Και υποτίθεται ότι εδώ μέσα συζητάμε πώς μπορούμε να ακούσουμε ποιοτικότερη μουσική.
Αλλά βέβαια, έτσι είναι οι (υποτιθέμενοι) hi-endάκηδες. Θέλουν να βλέπουν κάτι "όμορφο" (υποκειμενικά) και να θαυμάζεται από αυτούς που βάζουν σπίτι τους, παρά να ακούνε αληθινή και ποιοτική μουσική. Η επίδειξη σε όλο της το ΜΕΓΑΛΕΙΟ!!!!!!!!

KEF launches new flagship speakers - a snip at £70k!

KEF has unveiled its latest flagship speakers, The Muons - and amazingly all you need to procure a pair is £70,000. Ace. Especially as this very reasonable sum includes VAT…

Not surprisingly, the Muons were launched at Harrods recently, and will apparently form part of a ‘permanent’ display there in the Sound and Vision department. So if you’re too stingy to actually buy a pair, you could always just spend every night in Harrods listening to them there.

The speakers themselves stand two metres high, and have been created by KEF in conjunction with renowned industrial designer, Ross Lovegrove. They’re built from super-formed aluminium, which apparently involves using malleable sheets of heated aluminium to achieve otherwise impossible shapes. And the eventual form of the loudspeaker, according to KEF, ‘was the result of a careful convergence between Ross Lovegrove’s design aesthetics and the physics of sound’.

KEF claims that Muon’s four-way speaker system mounted into the front of the structure with its powerful bass drivers is one of the elements that make it so superior. However, there’s also some high-falutin’ stuff going on with the upper mid-range and treble areas, where some of the Muon’s key technology lies in the form of the Uni-Q® drive unit array, and KEF’s Acoustic Compliance Enhancement technology, which enables the speakers to effectively double the available volume through adsorption of air molecules by activated carbon.

The two additional bass drivers mounted in the back of the Muon, meanwhile, are reckoned to help deal with sound-spoiling room effects, and the 6mm thick, heavily damped aluminium shell provides a totally rigid structure that minimises any sound-distorting vibrations.

If you do happen to have £70k burning a hole in your pocket, though, you’d better get down Harrods pronto, as only 100 Muon pairs are being manufactured.
