How AAVA works AAVA operates by feeding the music signal to a V-I (voltage - current) converting amplifier where it is weighted in 16 steps [1/2, 1/4, ..., 1/32,768, 1/65,536]. The 16 current steps are turned on or off by 16 current switches, and the combination of switch settings determines the overall volume. The switching operation is controlled by a CPU according to the position of the volume control knob. The combined signal current forms a variable gain circuit that adjusts the volume. Finally, the combined current is converted back into a music signal voltage by an I-V (current - voltage) converter.

Αν έχουμε για προενισχυτή τον Lyngdorf DPA-1, με το room perfect για ψηφιακή ισοστάθμιση, που φθάνει μέχρι 24/96Khz, και βάλουμε ένα κομμάτι 24/192 Khz, στο Ο410 με την πλακέτα ψηφιακών εισόδων που φθάνει μέχρι 32/216, τι θα ακούσω 24/192 ή 24/96;

Aν το ψηφιακό πάει από το transport στον Lyngdorf κι από εκεί στο ΚΗ, αναγκαστικά θα "πέσει" στα 24/96 για να περάσει από τον Lyngdorf.

Χωρίς να γνωρίζω επακριβώς με ποιο τρόπο κάνει ισοστάθμιση χώρου ο Lyngdorf, μπορώ να σου πω πως και τα Κ+Η O 500 C μπορούν να ισοσταθμιστούν ως προς το χώρο από μόνα τους.
Να ξέρεις πάντως πως οι διάφορες ψηφιακές ισοσταθμίσεις χώρου δεν είναι όλες ίδιες ούτε δουλεύουν το ίδιο σωστά (περισσότερα παρακάτω *)

"Option: FIR-based room-compensation
Although the 0 500 C is factory equipped with a fairly versatile room-compensation capability, this may not always be sufficient to compensate for acoustic deficiencies in the studio.
The integral FIR-based controller offers the unique possibility of very finely tuning the monitors to the listening room and to their specific location within the room. Depending on measurements taken of the room acoustics, the frequency and phase of the FIR filters can be adjusted to the specific room in such a way that optimal listening conditions will prevail at the mixing position.
First, third-octave measurements are taken from very many points in the listening area, then averaged. The resulting curve reflects both the speakerʼs frequency response and dispersion patterns as well as the roomʼs acoustical response.
The software then uses the particulars of the room and speaker location to calculate settings for the FIR filters and stores this information as a new preset in non-volatile memory in the integrated controller. During playback the controller compensates for the acoustical imbalances in the room, and thereby usually makes it possible to achieve significant sonic improvements in the studio.
Please note that this type of acoustical optimisation requires a certain level of experience and the appropriate equipment. In any case it represents an economical alternative to a serious investment in a structural acoustic renovation of the studio."

Το Κ+Η μπορεί να κάνει την ψηφιακή ισοστάθμιση που κάνει ο Lyngdorf;

Ε, όχι. Μπορείς να παρέμβεις "με το χέρι" αλλά το Lyngdorf τα κάνει όλα αυτόματα με proprietary αλγόριθμο που, από τη μικρή μου επαφή μαζί του, φαίνεται να δουλεύει πολύ καλά.

Γενικώς δε θα με άγχωνε αυτό το θέμα. Το 24/192 υλικό είναι ελάχιστο.
