LG U990 world's first DVB-H phone

LG has made a proud addition to its segment of feature-rich cell phones, the LG-U900 which is supposed to be the world’s first UMTS (WCDMA) DVB-H phone. It will be available thru Hutchison network "3" in Italy as Hutchison is the one that has obtained exclusive DVB-H broadcasting rights for World Cup 2006. If you own this phone, you will have direct access to video of all World Cup matches beginning from June 6, thru Hutchison’s service channels,”La3”. After the Italian release, Hutchison plans make this phone available worldwide. It features a big 2.2-inch for mobile TV viewing, 1.3MP and VGA camera for video conferencing and internal memory capacity of 60MB combined with a T-Flash card slot.


It has some exclusive digital broadcasting features such as ESG (Electronics Service Guide) and CAS (Conditional Access System) for mobile and broadcasting operators, these functions support enhanced business models.
