Zack Snyder's Man of Steel Goes 3D:




Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that director Zack Snyder’s upcoming action adventure Man of Steel will be presented in 3D in select theaters, as well as in 2D and IMAX, so fans of the iconic superhero will be able to experience the much-anticipated movie in their format of choice.

Snyder stated, “The film is going to be a visually exciting experience in all formats: 2D, 3D and IMAX. Anticipating how audiences today embrace 3D, we designed and photographed the movie in a way that would allow ‘Man of Steel’ to captivate those movie goers, while respecting fans who prefer a more traditional cinematic experience. We’ve taken great measures to ensure the film and the story come first, and 3D is meant as an enhancement.

Στην ταινία είναι την στιγμή που ο Gandalf πέφτει από την γέφυρα ενώ δευτερόλεπτα πριν λέει το "Fly, you fools!" στην συντροφιά...

Warner Bros. has revealed their international release calendar for next summer's Man Of Steel. Most territories will see Zack Snyder's film next June, but a few will have to wait for July. Russell Crowe talks Man of Steel

Man of Steel star Russell Crowe is only the second person to play Superman's father, Jor-El, on the big screen and he spoke with Reelz about the upcoming film and its approach to the DC comics hero.


"It's very complicated, it's really complex. I don't think anybody has really tried to get into the psychology of what it must be like to be Superman and what people would really respond like in a modern society if somebody like that just popped up. I think Zack Snyder was given a great deal of responsibilty because when it comes to comic book heroes and superhero films the top of the food chain is Superman. I think the biggest indicator for me of how it's looking is that the financier of the film has sent me gushing emails, he just loves it.

"I'm really looking foward to seeing it, it's a massive undertaking. It takes you on the ground to Krypton, it takes you to a planet where the sun is four times larger than ours and you get to experience that stuff and if you've seen the trailers you realize that this Superman is not just floating through the air held up by a wire, this Superman is super sonic. I'm really looking forward to the way that people will respond to it."

Russell Crowe talks Man of Steel on The Tonight Show

Though Russell Crowe will unlikely share any screentime with co-star Amy Adams in this summer's Man of Steel, one thing they do share is speaking about the film on "The Tonight Show." Crowe spoke very generally about the film, but told a great anecdote about his son.


"It's a reboot of the franchise with Zack Snyder who did the 300 film, with a young English fellow called Henry Cavill as Superman or Kal-El as I call him because he's my son. Yeah, times have changed, I'm Superman's dad.

"I said to my son Charlie, 'I'm going to be Superman's dad in the movie, so if I'm Superman's dad what does that make you?' and he got really excited and said 'Superman's brother?'"

Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill talk reinventing Superman

Remaking the last son of Krypton would be quite a daunting task, especially if it's for modern audiences who have 'seen it all.' But the way that director Zack Snyder is approaching Superman in Man of Steel has already struck a chord with many based on the trailers alone. In the latest issue of Total Film (which Man of Steel is the cover story for), Snyder and star Henry Cavill spoke about making the character relatable and interesting for modern audiences.


“We’ve tried to make a Superman movie where he does stuff and you go, ‘Yeah, if I was Superman, that’s what I’d do,’” Snyder said. “Even though he’s an alien, he’s more relatable, more human.”


Cavill, who portrays the namesake of the film, elaborated on this idea. “This is a Superman for a modern age. It’s not betraying anything that Superman is, but it is grounding everything in reality. It’s the story of this incredible being who can do incredible things, but whom we can associate with. Because he’s gone through troubling stuff and had to make tough choices.

David Goyer says the Man of Steel Trailer is just the 'tip of the iceberg'

We've already seen a teaser and a trailer for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, but screenwriter tells Total Film that they have kept most of the movie a secret so far.


"It's something Chris [Nolan] tried hard to do with the Batman films," Goyer said. "I'm genuinely pleased with how much secrecy we've been able to maintain. There's so much of the movie that people don't know, that hasn't been touched upon. The trailer's just the tiniest, tiniest tip of the iceberg."


Goyer also talked about whether or not this Superman movie will be darker. "Relatable and realistic doesn't necessarily mean dark. I think it would be inappropriate for us to approach a Superman film as if we were doing The Dark Knight. The Batman films are a lot more nihilistic; Superman has always been a story about hope."

Hans Zimmer talks scoring Man of Steel

It came as a surprise to many last year when composer Hans Zimmer announced he would be providing the score for Warner Bros.' upcoming Superman reboot, Man of Steel. Zimmer originally refused the job after saying that following in the footsteps of John Williams would be like "rewriting Beethoven’s ninth," but he came around eventually after some nudging from The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan. CNN spoke with the composer about working on the film and crafting a sound that could follow Williams' iconic score.


"Look, that was daunting," Zimmer confessed. "Seriously. He's the greatest film composer out there, without a doubt, and it happens to be one of his iconic pieces of music, so I spent three months just procrastinating and not even getting a start on the thing, because I was so intimidated: 'Oh my God, I'm following in John Williams' footsteps.'"


When he first denied the position, Zimmer claimed he didn't know how to give a "proper voice" to the music, but it would appear aftering mediating on the story of the film, he's found it.


"I kept thinking of the story as, What if you are extraordinary, and your entire ambition is to join humanity? To become human? What does it mean to become human? What does it mean to be an outsider who really wants to join the human race?"


"Everything's tinged with irony and sarcasm and bitterness and darkness these days," he said. But this he says is "celebrating everything that was good and fine about America," such as small towns "where people don't lock their doors, neighbors get together, and families are families."


Zimmer also says the setting of the film was an influence on how it was made and how he composed its theme.


"What was important for Superman was the simple fact that none of us pay much attention to the Midwest. I know America mainly by the big cities, but if you go into the Midwest, there is a people there and there is a country there. And I thought it was important that the decent folk, simple folk be the heart of the story, and a character who is guileless, who isn't complicated in the sort of flawed way our Dark Knight is, and isn't political in any way. He's just striving to become a better part of humanity."

Weta's Joe Letteri on Zack Snyder's Man of Steel

Weta Digital's Joe Letteri recently spoke to Bleeding Cool about director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. The visual effects supervisor didn't want to talk about the effects, however, and instead addressed the film's story. Here's what he said:


"I can’t talk too much about Man of Steel yet, and I haven’t seen the whole thing yet, but overall it’s the story that’s most exciting. It’s a nice re-envisioning of the story of Superman leaving his homeworld and coming to this new one.

If you look at what Zack [Snyder] has done you’ll see that they’ve abandoned a lot of the pretense that was in the comics and asked “Can we still make this work?”

They’re sticking to realism as much as possible. Fantastic elements are still there but a lot of it that been trimmed back to make it feel as though this actually happened."

Man of Steel's General Zod delivers a message!

The static has ended at the official site for Man of Steel and has been replaced with a message from General Zod (Michael Shannon), who requests that we return Kal-El to his custody and he tells Kal-El to surrender within 24 hours or our world will suffer the consequences. You can watch the video below!


A new site for the viral has also been discovered at IWillFindHim.com which is counting down 48 hours. We'll have to wait and see if that means we'll get the trailer then.
