Zack Snyder and Hans Zimmer on the future of the big screen DC universe

We've still got two weeks until Zack Snyder's Man of Steel hits the big screen, but, at today's press junket for the film, composer Hans Zimmer teased that Snyder already has plans for what is going to come next.


"I just had a conversation recently with Zack where I was trying to look at my life in the future," Zimmer said. "He was going, 'Well, we want to go and do this and we want to go and [do this]'. I was thinking, 'Oh my god. Here we go again."


Zimmer is, of course, well known for his work on Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy. While there's no solid evidence as of yet to suggest that those three films might ultimately share a cinematic universe with Man of Steel, Snyder is already considering a world beyond the one film.


"Someone asked me, 'There's no Kryptonite and no Lex Luthor?'" Snyder smiled. "I said, 'Well, okay. Within the parameters of this story, there's no Kryptonite or Lex Luthor, but that's not to say that they don't exist in the world. That's an entirely different question."


As to whether or not we'll see either of those elements in a sequel or a spinoff (such as a much-anticipated Justice League project) remains to be seen, but it certainly sounds like Snyder knows what he'd like to see happen next and that he'd like Zimmer to again be involved.

David Goyer on Justice League and the Man of Steel sequel

Man of Steel screenwriter David S. Goyer has been talking about a sequel and the possible Justice League movie. Regarding the latter, he tells Hey U Guys that it would definitely feature a new Batman and not Christian Bale, as was rumored before.


"It would be disingenuous to say Warner Bros doesn’t hope that this would be the starting point for a shared universe. And Zack has said that Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. It would be a different Bruce Wayne from Chris’ [Nolan] Dark Knight trilogy, and it would be disingenuous to say that Zack and I haven’t had various conversations on set, around ‘what if’ and ‘moving forward’.

That having been said, it’s all going to depend on the next few weeks. Warner Bros has hopes that there will be more Man Of Steel films, and that this will be the beginning of a shared universe. We could meet Batman, or Wonder Woman, or the Justice League in these movies. But they all hinge on box office reception."


While the film is already doing really well, Goyer talked more about what we can see if Man of Steel performs as well as Warner Bros. hopes it will.


"I think Warner Bros has seen – and Chris deserves the biggest credit for this – that we were able to revitalise Batman and put it into the first billion dollar superhero film. And they’re hoping that Superman will be revistalised as well. And if we can do Batman and Superman, then maybe we can move on to Wonder Woman, and The Flash, and characters like that."


Goyer also talked to CraveOnline about Lex Luthor appearing in the Man of Steel universe.


"If Lex is going to exist in the world, we would presumably have to give him the same treatment that we gave Lois Lane in the first film, which is make him a credible character. [...] He’s gotta be a man of incredible intelligence, and presumably a man of incredible wealth and incredible resources."

Πήγα και το είδα σήμερα, Village Αγίου Δημητρίου, σε 3D, στην αίθουσα 5.

Εν συντομία, το εργάκι Γ-Α-Μ-Α-Τ-Ο !!!


Δράση από το πρώτο έως και το τελευταίο λεπτό (σε φάση που λες ώρες ώρες ας κάνουν και κανένα διάλειμμα ρε παιδιά).

Μου άρεσε αφάνταστα που μας δείξανε την όλη ιστορία του Crypton, κάτι που δεν είχαμε δει ή ξέραμε ποτέ στο παρελθόν, με πολύ ωραίο τρόπο, και με αρκετό κινηματογραφικό χρόνο, χωρίς βιασύνες.

Ο πρωταγωνιστής Henry Cavill (που μου άρεσε πάρα πολύ από τότε που είχα δει το Immortals), υπήρχαν φορές που ήταν ΙΔΙΟΣ ο Christopher Reeve

μια από αυτές είναι π.χ την στιγμή που ορμάει με όλη του την δύναμη και περνάει μέσα από την ακτίνα που έβγαζε το μηχάνημα που διέσχιζε τους πόλους της γης και που εντέλει το καταστρέφει.

Πειστικός και αληθοφανής σε όλη την διάρκεια της ταινίας. Γενικά πολύ καλή επιλογή casting.


Έναν Russel Crow που εμένα προσωπικά μου άρεσε ΠΑΡΑ ΠΟΛΥ ως Jor-El (φυσικός πατέρας του Kal-El, a.k.a Superman). Και με αρκετό χρόνο σε όλη την ταινία για να τον χορτάσουμε (σημ: η στολή του τα έσπαγε λέμε).


Ο ηθοποιός Michael Shannon ως ο κακός της ταινίας (General Zod) πολύ πειστικός, σε κάνει να πιστεύεις πως είναι ισάξιος του Superman και όχι κάποιος υποδεέστερος του. Αλλά ιδιαίτερα μου άρεσε ο τρόπος μου μιλούσε. Έχει έναν ιδιαίτερο τρόπο όταν μιλάει, και αυτό τον κάνει να ακούγεται πολύ πειστικός.


Έναν συγκινητικό Kevin Costner ως Jonathan Kent (θετό πατέρα του Superman)

η σκηνή του θανάτου του, εμένα προσωπικά με συγκίνησε και ήταν αριστουργηματικά γυρισμένη ακριβώς για να σου δημιουργήσει τέτοιο συναίσθημα και να δεις τι θυσίασε ο Superman προκειμένου να μην αποκαλυφθεί η ταυτότητα του.

Είχε και αυτός αρκετό κινηματογραφικό χρόνο για να μας δείξει την καθοδήγηση στον "γιο του" και το πως δεν πρέπει να αποκαλυφθεί στο κοινό έως ότου φθάσει η κατάλληλη στιγμή.


H Amy Adams ως Lois Lane και αυτή καλή στον ρόλο που την επιλέξανε. Εξίσου πολύ καλή επιλογή casting πιστεύω. Χωρίς πολλές φανφάρες, και μελοδραματικά. Ήταν πιστή στον ρόλο της, και με όσο κινηματογραφικό χρόνο χρειαζόταν. Ούτε πολύ, αλλά ούτε και λίγο. Ιδανικά πιστεύω.


Η Diane Lane ως Martha Kent (θετή μητέρα του Superman) καλή χωρίς τίποτα το ιδιαίτερο (σημ: όσο και να μεγαλώσει αυτή η γυναίκα δεν παύει να μου αρέσει. Τι πράγμα είναι αυτό ρε γαμώτο...


Μου άρεσε επίσης (ως γυναίκα μόνο) η ηθοποιός Antje Traue η οποία κάνει την Faora-Ul στην ταινία, δηλαδή το δεξί χέρι του General Zod και υπαρχηγό του. Τρελό μωρό λέμε...


Και τέλος, η μουσική (ΕΓΓΥΗΣΗ) από τον τρισμέγιστο Hans Zimmer να συνοδεύει αρμονικά την ταινία καθ όλην την διάρκεια της (ένα μεγάλο μπράβο για το νέο αναβαθμισμένο πλέον main theme του Superman).




Αποτέλεσμα, ένα μεγάλο ΜΠΡΑΒΟ στους Zack Snyder και Christopher Nolan που αναβαθμίσανε την ιστόρία του Superman σε ένα κινηματογραφικό blockbuster το οποίο ανοίγει πλέον διάπλατα την πόρτα στην DC Comics για να γυρίσουν τους Justice League !!!!!!
