Congratulations for the speakers your company manufactures!It is very important for us who can afford speakers of the medium-price range to find in the market speakers like the Silver Range(and eventually the RS).I don't have any questions for you, so I'll stick to wishing a pleasant stay and maybe a swim in one of our beautiful beaches!!I hope you will visit our country again and of course,if that's possible, we can have a forum-meeting!!

Dear Mr. Dave Hobbs,
Welcome to Greece, the country of Orpheas, the ancient Greek God of music.

Your experience in the field of Acoustics is well known to us as well as to many other audiophiles all over the world.

The question I would like to ask you is why we keep spending a lot of effort and money to get into the so called audio nirvana ?

How can you explain the fact that a cheap Chinese acoustic guitar which costs around 100 Euros still sounds better than the most expensive audio system I have heard so far?

How close are Monitor Audio speakers to the real sound, that is the sound produced by real acoustic instruments?
Have you ever compared the sound of your top line speakers to a real instrument side by side?   Is this kind of test a real measure of speaker/system quality or not ?

Dear George, this has always been the aim of all audio manufacturers to be able to produce a product that comes as near as possible to the original source. The definition of HIFI is to be able to reproduce in your home enviroment the closest to the original live sound. If you take into consideration everything that is used in the chain starting with the recorded software, CD player, Pre-amp, Power-amp, speakers, cable and room acoustics, it is amazing the quality that can be achieved.
The reason there are so many loudspeaker manufactures throught out the world is that everybodys hearing is different. The recommendation that I give to persons investigating purchasing HIFI, listen to music you know personally very well and create a system that fulfills your understanding of the reproduced sound. There are hundreds of product to choose from but only you have to pay and live with what you purchased. HIFI is something that shopuld bring you hours of pleasure.

Hi, sorry for slow response but I am finally back in the groove. The new Silver RS is completely new in all aspects, cabinet design and finish, drivers are complete new using the same C-CAM technology as used in the Gold Series. New speaker terminal plate on the rear, new plinth. As for the cabinet the wood is thicker giving increased stability coupled with improved internal bracing eliminating all internal vibrations. I have found the new RS is easier to place in any room and is not so sensitive about being placed too close to a wall. We have increased the color range by bringing in Silver and Walnut. The new RS-W12 was spicifically desighned for the new Silver Series, 500 Watts in a well constructed cabinet.

Hi Guys, I am back in Germany for a few days before flying off to South America.
I apologise for the sporadic responses but I promise to get back on your site as often as I can. It has been a really super year for Monitor Audio thanks to you loyal Monitor Audio fans and Audio fans. The new Silver RS has proved to be a winner with the RS 6 Home Theatre 5.1 system receiving Product of the Year award.
