General request for help which has also been referred to the Projector Gods.
This is the background to my problem. I have around EUR 700 to spend on a projector with a high lumens value. I have a small internet cafe in galatsi with a big outside seating area. The area I would use for my screen is quite shaded in the day and at night its quite dark. In both cases there is quite a bit of ambient light but not that much falling on the screen. I want to have a 1.7m to 2m across screen to show the football world cup. So the way I see it I need a projector with at least 3000 lumens. Contrast is not a big issue I assume because of the amount of ambient light. Now I would buy a DLP like the BenQ MP670 from Plaisio or similar from Optoma but am very worried about the rainbow effect on a cheap projector when it will be viewed by so many people. So I also looked at an LCD projector and found the Samsung SP-L300 from MG Manager for around the same price but has low contrast.
Questions:
1) Is 3000 lumens enough. Should I go higher or can I go lower in the environment I described.
2) Is the DLP I am looking at any good or is there going to be a lot of rainbow. Can you suggest a brighter or different model DLP that is no more than EUR 950 that will have less rainbow.
3) Should I ignore the DLP and go for the Samsung LCD. Is it any good. Or do you have other suggestions in this price range.
4) I am thinking of a 1,2 gain screen cheap. I hope its OK?
5) For speakers I am thinking of buying a 40 watt 2.1 set or a a 26 watt 2.0 set cheap under EUR 80. The area they must cover is about 55m2 with some ambient noise. Are those good enough?
6) To receive TV signal I will probably get something small from Avermedia at Plaisio (Aver TV Box W9 Plus). However this handles ERT digital but not digea. This is not a problem for the world cup which is on NET but I was hoping to ask you if you new of a standalone TV signal decoder that can decode Analog TV, DVB-T MPEG-2 (ERT Digital) and DVB-T MPEG-4 (Digea).
