Η μουσική τους είναι μία πρόσμιξη Ελληνικών στοιχείων με ρυθμικά και αρμονικά ηχοχρώματα που αναφέρονται στην Jazz & την Σύγχρονη μουσική. Στις προσωπικές συνθέσεις των μελών του group , με κύριο ζητούμενο τον «αυτοσχεδιασμό», η Jazz Utopia κινείται μεταξύ Ανατολής και Δύσης με την ίδια δύναμη και πίστη, είτε αυτό αφορά τις μελωδίες των συνθέσεων, είτε την αυτοσχεδιαστική τους διάθεση. Ήχος πότε «ηλεκτρικός», σκληρός, με ενέργεια «ροκ», και πότε ατμοσφαιρικός, σχεδόν ρομαντικός, μας ταξιδεύει σε μία μουσική διαδρομή που δεν φτάνει πουθενά - μία «ουτοπία



The Jazz Utopia trio was formed in Spring of 2001.
Based on the Idea to work on Odd Rhythms and the common love of the trio to jazz and to Greek traditional music, plus the will to create music where all these elements fused together with main and basic result the Art of Improvisation, with the wish to create a sound that is based on these components. Their first live appearance was held in International Percussion Festival’’ of the Island Lefkada in July of 2001.
They played their original material based on these elements and they arranged a clinic for musicians of all instruments to analyze and their way and their approach. For almost two years the band didn't play live engagements, trying to work on the material and to create some specific sound that they had in their
Minds.
In July of 2003,in an engagement at the International Percussion Festival of Petroupolis, Greece, they called the great Sax player Takis Paterelis to participate at the concert and the Recording of the:
