Eve Hewson lands Maid Marion role in Robin Hood: Origins

Lionsgate‘s Robin Hood: Origins has today found its Maid Marion with Deadline reporting that Eve Hewson has taken the female lead in the Otto Bathurst (“Peaky Blinders,” “Black Mirror,”) film. Eve Hewson can be seen on the big screen this Friday, starring in Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies. There, she plays a daughter of Tom Hanks’ character.

Eve Hewson is also known for big screen roles in films like Enough Said, where she starred opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the late James Gandolfini. She also starred on Steven Soderbergh’s acclaimed Cinemax series, The Knick.

Jamie Foxx is Little John in Robin Hood: Origins

Lionsgate‘s Robin Hood: Origins has today found its Little John in the form of a big star: Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained, Ray). According to Deadline, the Academy Award winner’s take on the character will be as “a battle hardened but war weary veteran of The Crusades who starts out distrustful of Robin Hood (they fought on opposite sides), and then warms to the young hero.”

Jamie Dornan joins Robin Hood: Origins

Back in January, Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained, Ray) joined the cast of Lionsgate‘s Robin Hood: Origins as Little John. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, another famous “Jamie” has been added to the cast in the form of Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Jamie Dornan, who is set to play Will Scarlett, a stylish member of the title character’s band of Merry Men who also happens to be the husband of Maid Marian.

Rogue One’s Ben Mendelsohn to play sheriff of Nottingham

Summit Entertainment has found an appropriate talent to face off against Taron Egerton’s Robin Hood. Variety reports that Ben Mendelsohn, who can be seen in a galaxy far, far away in this Friday’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will play the Sheriff of Nottingham in director Otto Bathurst‘s upcoming Robin Hood.
