The Unfinished History of Life


Directed by Cong Feng (China, 2011). Official Selection International Film Festival Rotterdam 2012.

The filmmaker spent years in a Chinese village to record daily life's every detail. He drank many a glass with the villagers and observed them for so long that he started to recognise their repeating patterns of behaviour. That is why there is no end to this tale.

Ο σκηνοθέτης πέρασε χρόνια σε ένα κινέζικο χωριό καταγραφοντας λεπτομερειες της καθημερινής ζωής τους . Ήπιε πολλες φορες με τους κατοίκους του χωριού και τους παρατηρουσε για τόσο πολύ καιρό μεχρι που άρχισε ν αναγνωριζει επαναλαμβανόμενα μοτίβα στη συμπεριφοράς τους . Αυτός είναι ο λόγος για τον οποίο δεν υπάρχει τέλος σε αυτή την ιστορια.

Dramatic footage has been released of the moment a pilot, whose plane was running out of fuel, survived, ditching in the ocean off Hawaii on Sunday.
The video, released by the US Coast Guard, shows how the unidentified pilot of the Cirrus SR-22 deployed a parachute when the propeller stopped moving midair.
The man escaped the single-engine plane once it had fallen into the water and climbed into a life raft before he was picked up by a cruise ship, which had been called in to help by the Coast Guard.
It is not known if the pilot suffered any injuries.
