Ascendant lands Age of Adaline’s Lee Toland Krieger to direct Divergent finale

Although the film remains on track for its June 9, 2017 release, The Divergent Series: Ascendant lost Insurgent and Allegiant director Robert Schwentke a few weeks ago when it was revealed he would not return for the final chapter due to exhaustion after directing back-to-back franchise installments. Now, Heat Vision is reporting that Lee Toland Krieger (Celeste & Jesse Forever, The Age of Adaline) has stepped in to replace Schwentke for the franchise’s swan song.
