Η Westinghouse είναι μάρκα "φασόν". Ξέρει κανείς τι πάνελ φοράει? AUO, LG.Philips, Samsung-Sony?

δεν είναι καν σίγουρο ότι φορά ΜΙΑ μάρκα πάνελ
(αντίθετα από άλλη εταιρία που ξέρω ότι παίρνει ΜΙΑ μάρκα -AUO- και μάλιστα τα Α+ τους)

ε οκ όταν μια εταιρία έχει μέγεθος ολόκληρου... χωριού και τέτοια μεγαλοπιασίματα γιατί να μην

εγώ βλέπω να γίνεται LG (μην ξεχνάμε την κάποτε "ψωρο-goldstar" κάποτε ε;...) σε 2-3 χρόνια - στο κάτω κάτω το ότι οι Κινέζοι θα τα καταπιούν όλα δεν είναι νέο (ΗΔΗ και αυτά που ΔΕΝ το διαλαλούν ΕΙΝΑΙ Κινέζικα απλά δεν το φωνάζουν)...

Chi Mei Optoelectronics, a Taiwanese TFT-LCD producer located outside the historic former capital of Tainan in the island’s south, is an offshoot of the Chi Mei group, one of Taiwan’s biggest industrial empires. Chi Mei in 1997 licensed TFT-LCD technology from Fujitsu and has barely looked back since. CMO has invested over $4 billion in its fabs, with more on the way, and is now one of the world’s top producers of LCD panels.
Like rivals such as Sharp and Samsung, CMO is counting on soaring demand for LCD televisions, producing not only the LCD panels but the insides as well. But unlike the better known Korean and Japanese companies, CMO leaves the branding to others. For instance, CMO is a key partner for Westinghouse Digital, the Southern California-based company that's trying to revive the Westinghouse brand for TVs

Sharp to Procure TV Panels from AUO, CMO

(Taiwan Economic News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)Taipei, May 18, 2006 (CENS)--Taiwan's top-two thin film transistor-liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panel makers, AU Optronics Corp. (AUO) and Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp. (CMO), are expected to win increasing orders for large-sized TV panels from Sharp of Japan, according to industry sources

Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun recently reported that Sharp plans to further upgrade the production ratio of over-37-inch (including) LCD TVs, from 14% of 2005 to 26% this year, so as to boast revenue and profits amid falling panel prices

Sankei Shimbun said that the LCD TV prices fall at an average pace of 30% per year and Sharp also plans to soon adjust down its LCD TV prices by 20% to 30% to so as to elevate its share of the market for over-37-inch products


Industry insiders explained that the production capacity at Sharp's six-generation (6G) panel plant can hardly meet the high volume-expansion goal set by the company, forcing the firm to outsource 26- and 32-inch panels from Taiwan suppliers, especially leading suppliers AUO and CMO

Sharp has secured panel supply from Quanta Display Inc., No. 4 panel maker in Taiwan, and is expected to include AUO and CMO as new suppliers. Sharp's monthly TV-panel procurement volume from Taiwan is expected to double to about 200,000 panels from about 100,000 currently, as the Japanese company would boost its exports to the North American and European markets

Sharp began procuring TV panels from Quanta Display in March at an average volume of 100,000 units per month. AUO will formally merge Quanta Display in October.

Απλά μου φάνηκε ωραίο νέο κ ανέβασα το θέμα.

ok - απλά ήδη ξέρουμε ότι το νέο δεν "μας αφορά" (όπως αποδείχτηκε ότι δεν μας αφορούσε της αντίστοιχης 37άρας γιατί πολύ απλά δεν ακούμπησε καν την Ευρώπη)

το σχόλιο μου ήταν απλώς ότι, τι σημασία έχει ένα τέτοιο νέο που αφορά την άλλη μεριά του πλανήτη, όταν δεν είναι καν novelty αλλά θα το δούμε (σε άλλη έκδοση) στις βιτρίνες εδώ στο Ελλάντα μας σε 1-2 μήνες
