It's been a while now since we fist showed a picture of Magnepan's new Magneplanar Woofer and we have a few more details about it. The woofer will be part of their new Custom Home line and augment the custom line's motorized speakers. The woofer is designed to be invisible and fit in with the rest of the decor without anyone realizing it is there. Magnepan was very clear that it is not designed to be a "subwoofer."
The Magneplanar Woofer uses the same technology as the bass drive in the 20.1 with an opposing magnet structure and will play down to about 40Hz.
Pricing is currently undetermined and a tentative release date is Spring of 08 with the new Custom Home line being released at the same time.
