Samuel L. Jackson reuniting with Vin Diesel for xXx sequel

With filming getting started on the xXx sequel, Vin Diesel has shared a few more updates on his social channels. First up, Diesel announced that Samuel L. Jackson will be returning as NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons.








Diesel also revealed some concept art from the film which you can view in the below post.








And lastly, Vin Diesel announced that current UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor will also have a role.

xXx sequel cast includes Tony Jaa, Jet Li and Deepika Padukone

We previously learned that Samuel L. Jackson would be returning as NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons and that UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor would also have a role in the xXx sequel, and now twitch is reporting that the xXx sequel cast also includes international action stars Jet Li and Tony Jaa, as well as Indian star Deepika Padukone.

Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose join Vin Diesel in xXx 3

“The Vampire Diaries” star Nina Dobrev and “Orange Is the New Black’s” Ruby Rose are joining Vin Diesel in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Ruby Rose herself confirmed the casting on Instagram and said: “I am so excited to be joining the XXX family. Start shooting ( excuse the pun ) next feb in Toronto.”

The trade adds that Dobrev will play a witty and sarcastic techie while Padukone will play a huntress who happens to be Cage’s former lover. Rose will play a sniper.

Jet Li confirmed for xXx 3: The Return of Xander Cage

Jet Li has officially joined the cast of xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, says a story today at The Hollywood Reporter. Although the actor and martial artist was rumored to be a part of the project back on New Year’s day, a subsequent xXx3 update did not mention Jet Li’s involvement, leaving some to fear that contract negotiations had fallen through. Today’s update appears to lock Jet Li’s involvement, however, with the trade reporting that the actor will play, “the leader of his own team [who] will square off against Diesel”.

Toni Collette joins xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Academy Award-nominee Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense, Little Miss Sunshine) has joined Vin Diesel in the ever-increasing roster of actors in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. Collette will reportedly play “a bureaucrat in the intelligence service” with the film said to be centering on “two teams of badasses that go head-to-head.”

Production continues on xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and Vin Diesel has revealed a new set photo on Facebook featuring himself, director D.J. Caruso and international superstar Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Blade II), who has apparently joined the cast as a character named Xiang. Meanwhile, Twitch is reporting that Yen is actually a last-minute replacement for the previously-announced Jet Li, who has exited the film for unknown reasons.

Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez cast in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

Having already cast Ruby Rose and Nina Dobrev, it was safe to say that xXx: The Return of Xander Cage boasted a fair amount of tough female eye candy, but it apparently wasn’t enough as TheWrap is reporting that 2015 Miss Universe contestant Ariadna Gutierrez has been cast as one of Vin Diesel’s love interests in the film. Gutierrez made headlines when last year’s pageant host Steve Harvey incorrectly announced her as the winner, although it looks like Miss Colombia is coming out on top in the long run.

With cameras now rolling on xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, leading man Vin Diesel is back on social media, taking fans behind the scenes on the new xXx set. In a video posted to his Facebook page, Diesel joins franchise costar Samuel L. Jackson who, in the new film, reprises his role of NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons. They talk about their humble beginnings and the path that has led them to become movie stars, while Jackson explains that his impetus for wanting to do the film is to once again overtake fellow Star Wars franchise star Harrison Ford at the box office.
