Fast & Furious 7 release date announced!




Vin Diesel just announced at CinemaCon that Universal Pictures has set a July 11, 2014 release date for Fast & Furious 7! No other movie is scheduled for that date, but Maleficent opens a week earlier and X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled for the week after.

Fast & Furious 7 targets mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey

As James Wan's Fast & Furious 7 gears up for production, Variety is reporting that mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey is in talks for a supporting role. She'd join Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jason Statham along with a returning ensemble cast that has yet to be fully confirmed.


Continuing from the cliffhanger tease at the end of Furious Six, Fast & Furious 7 is said to return the action to Los Angeles, although the production is eyeing an Atlanta shoot.


Rousey recently made headlines when she signed on to join the cast of the upcoming The Expendables 3. The first American woman to have ever taken home an Olympic medal for Judo, Rousey scored a bronze in the 2008 summer games in Beijing.

James Wan's Fast & Furious 7 is living up to its title when it comes to pre-production. Following word yesterday of mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey entering talks for a role, Wan has taken to social media to reveal that Tyrese Gibson will be back as Roman Pearce and he even offered a glimpse at an early poster for the July 11, 2014 release. Check it out below!


"Last night's production meeting went for about 6 hours," Wan posted on Twitter. "From 7pm to 1am. #epic"


He followed that tweet with the below image of himself and Gibson posing in front a poster for the film.

It looks like James Wan is assembling a pretty tough crowd for his Fast & Furious 7. Vin Diesel is back on his official Facebook page today, revealing a new behind-the-scenes image from the now-filming Fast & Furious 7. As you can see from Diesel's below image, Dwayne Johnson is now filming, having just wrapped director Brett Ratner's Hercules. Although it's uncertain what put him there, it looks like Johnson's Luke Hobbs is going to be sent to the hospital at some point during the film.
