Για τον π..... καβάλα. Καλύτερα να παίρνανε τον (αρχι-g@y) Παπακαλιάτη για σκηνοθέτη παρά τον τύπο που ούτε η μάνα του ξέρει (Source Code, Moon). Και ειδικά για έναν τίτλο που έχει εκατομμύρια followers περίμενα η Blizzard θα έβαζε κάποιον πολύ πιο καταξιωμένο για σκηνοθέτη από αυτόν που τελικά επιλέξανε...

Vikings star Travis Fimmel boards Warcraft

As previously reported, negotiations are underway for Paula Patton and Colin Farrell to join the cast of the upcoming Legendary Pictures video game adaptation, Warcraft. Now, Variety brings word that "Vikings" star Travis Fimmel is set to play one of the film's four leading roles.

First concept art for the Warcraft movie revealed




Director Duncan Jones presented the Warcraft movie at BlizzCon 2013 on Saturday, and thanks to Kotaku we know a little more about the December 18, 2015 release.

The story of the film will center on Anduin Lothar versus Durotan, Human and Orc heroes from the original real-time strategy games. The movie will also be focused largely in the Eastern Kingdoms of Azeroth.

When Jones originally signed on, the script was more it was very human and Alliance centric. "It's about both sides. It's going to be red and blue." He wants the movie's audience to feel for the Orc heroes as much as they do the Human ones, said the site.

Special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer compared the tone of the film to Gladiator and said, "The swords that are being built are the biggest swords a human being can wield." Mayes Rubeo, costume designer for Apocalypto, Avatar, John Carter and World War Z, will be doing the costumes.

Four pieces of concept art were also revealed and included Draenor, Dalaran, Ironforge and Stormwind. You can view those below.

Colin Farrell talks Warcraft, calls script 'amazing'

A few months ago, rumors for the casting of the upcoming Warcraft movie started popping up, and one of the first names attached was Colin Farrell. IGN caught up with the actor and asked about the project, and what its production status is.

"Don’t know what’s happening, man. I read the script, if that’s any use to you, and it’s amazing....Duncan was cool. I sat with Duncan for awhile and read the script, loved the script, and we was as cool as can be. I don’t know what’s happening with the film. I don’t know where they are in the process...It’s just a world that I never explored — and it’s a really big and fantastical world. I can’t imagine what he, being as visually gifted as he is, Duncan, and what he did on Moon with, like, a dime, I can’t imagine what he’d do with this Warcraft."

When asked what character he might be playing, Farrell replied:

"Can I? I probably shouldn’t. I don’t even know, actually, I’ll just say that! I don’t even know. We were just talking, and Duncan just said, “There might be something in it for you!” And I said, “Catering?” [Laughs]"

Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have closed deals with Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma), Travis Fimmel ("Vikings"), Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Toby Kebbell (The Counselor), and Rob Kazinsky (Pacific Rim) and are in final stages of negotiation with Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) to star in Warcraft, based on Blizzard Entertainment's award-winning Warcraft universe.

Έχοντας κοινό που έλιωνε κάτι 12ωρα σε raids, το καλό που τους θέλω να κάνουν καλή δουλειά...

Θα προτιμούσα να δώ κάτι νεότερο σε lore, πχ Illidan/arthas ή malfurion/emerald dream, αλλά το lore είναι τόσο τεράστιο που μπορεί να γίνει πραγματικά πολλές ταινίες... Αρκεί να τα καταφέρουν με τα γραφικά και τα κοστούμια και να μην το παρατήσουν... Το ότι το έπιασαν από σχετικά νωρίς είναι καλό σημάδι

Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown join the Warcraft cast

Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures have closed deals for Daniel Wu and Clancy Brown to join the cast of Warcraft, based on Blizzard Entertainment's award-winning Warcraft universe.

Daniel Wu has twice been nominated for Best Actor at the prestigious Golden Horse Film Festival (Night Corridor, Like a Dream) and won the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2004 with New Police Story. One Nite in Mongkok brought Wu a Best Actor nomination at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

Clancy Brown can currently be seen in the feature film Homefront starring opposite James Franco and Jason Statham. Next year, Brown will star in the feature When the Game Stands Tall opposite Laura Dern. Brown currently recurs on the hit Fox TV series "Sleepy Hollow."

Dominic Cooper talks Warcraft

Starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson in this week's Reasonable Doubt, Dominic Cooper spoke today with CraveOnline, dropping a few bits of information about one of his major upcoming projects, Duncan Jones' Warcraft.

“There’s a very human story at the heart of it," Cooper says, "because there’s a few of us that are humans in it that are up against tribes and problematic issues that exist in the world that we exist in. It’s happening all over the world at the moment and you see it happening all over. People have savaged their own lands and their own environment and they’re having to find a new environment in which to move into through the hostility of others. If there’s something as poignant as that that we can relate to and that we see unfolding in everyday life, then it will make it a worthwhile story.

Ben Foster reveals his Warcraft character

Production has recently wrapped on Legendary Pictures and Universal's big screen adaptation of Blizzard's Warcraft series with Moon and Source Code director Duncan Jones at the helm, and even now we still don't know all that much about the film. Enter Ben Foster, an actor whom you might recognize as Angel from X-Men: The Last Stand and one of the stars of the film. Foster recently spoke with [pb]IGN[/b] about the adaptation and revealed who he will be playing, and longtime "Warcraft" fans will recognize the name.

"The character in Warcraft that I play is named Medivh. He's a mage, which is essentially a sorcerer. He came up in a time protecting an area, and the way he protected this area was through magic. As peace returned to this land he took a break. He hung up his staff, so to speak, or let his guns get dusty. We meet him as his friends are returning asking for his help in a battle."

Foster went on to talk about Jones' vision for the film and how it's not simply a video game becoming a movie.

"What's exciting about Duncan Jones' take on this video game is that it shows both sides of the war. It shows both sides of a conflict, which is exciting to me. It's not just a video game turned into a movie. It's asking, hopefully, an important question of, where do we limit our compassion for what we consider to be the bad guys?"

The subject of the special effects in the film also came up, which Foster has nothing but praise for, saying:

"The way that they're pushing motion-capture -- I just saw some of the test footage -- it's unlike anything I've ever seen. It's performance-capture. It pushes it to the next level. It's going to be one helluva 3D event."

First official images from Warcraft reveals Orgrim the orc

Universal and Legendary Pictures (via Wired) have released the first official images from the upcoming big screen adaptation, Warcraft, which features your first official look at Robert Kazinsky as the orc Ogrim.

“We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humor, and the toughness of this character,” director Duncan Jones tells the outlet. “We’ve gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies. “We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely.”

Warcraft posters show the film’s dueling factions

Ahead of the Legendary Pictures Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, two character posters for Warcraft have debuted online showing off the characters Lothar (played by Travis Fimmel) and Durotan (played by Toby Kebbel).
