WD TV HD: Δοκιμές για το καινούργιο firmware (1.01.01)

Μέσα στην εβδομάδα που μας έρχεται, και σύμφωνα με τα λεγόμενα του ScottWD, περιμένουμε το πολυαναμενόμενο για πολλούς firmware της WD που θα διορθώνει (ας ελπίσουμε!) τις παιδικές ασθένειες της συσκευής. Τι θα λέγατε να κάνουμε μια λίστα με τις δοκιμές που θα θέλαμε να κάνουν οι κάτοχοι της συσκευούλας ώστε να ενημερωθούμε όλοι; Βολικό θα είναι να τους προμηθεύσουμε εμείς με τα αρχεία που θέλουμε να δοκιμάσουν αν μπορούμε.

Ξεκινάω!

1. Ελληνικοί υπότιτλοι... (τι άλλο σαν πρώτη δοκιμή!) Κατεβάστε από εδώ μερικά λεπτά από το prison break μαζί με τους υπότιτλους σε normal μορφή (χωρίς utf8 ματζούνια) ή δοκιμάστε τους δικούς σας.

2. Υποστήριξη .ISO για τα dvd μας και επίσης αν λειτουργούν τα menu στο dvd. Σε μορφή VIDEO_TS (που υποστηρίζει το παλιό firmware) δεν λειτουργούσαν.

3. Δοκιμάστε αν παίζουν απροβλημάτιστα αυτά τα video, με το παλιό firmware χάλαγε η εικόνα (artifacts):

Τι περιμενουμε απο το νεο firmware:

Good to hear that everyone is as excited about the new firmware update as we are. As I mentioned earlier we tried to pack as much as we could into the first release. For those features that didn't make the 1.01 version we will be sure to fit them into the next one.

Here is a small sample of the features you can look forward to:

More media file format support
Enhanced Matroska (MKV) support
Advanced subtitle support
Enhanced power management
Updated media playback and navigation options

Τα ελληνικά σας παίζουν καλά; η λείπουν γράμματα σε ενσωματωμένους υπότιτλους σε μορφή mkv;

Λοιπον με μια γρηγορη ματια ειδα:

Υποστηριξη και εσωτερικων υποτιτλων στα mkv (σε stream οχι τους ενσωματωμενους στην εικονα που ουτως ή αλλως επαιζαν) και εξωτερικων srt, και τους βλεπει ταυτοχρονα, δηλαδη εχεις επιλογη εσωτερικου ή εξωτερικου... (στα settings εχει επιλογη 1. Additional encoding οπου επιλεγουμε GREEK ISO και 2. Subtitle size οπου επιλεγουμε μεγεθος γραμματοσειρας). Οι υποτιτλοι πλεον δεν ειναι τσακωμενοι μεταξυ τους (αραιοι). Αν γινω ψειρας θα ελεγα οτι με ενοχλησε μια ουριτσα στο γραμμα π , το γραμμα δ που γερνει λιγο και το τελικο ς , αλλα αυτα ειναι λεπτομερειες ή μπορει να φταινε τα .srt που δοκιμασα...

Παιζει επισης αρκετα αρχεια .mkv που πριν δεν επαιζαν σωστα (Κωστα θυμασαι το sample που σου εστειλα προχτες? Για βαλτο, θα δεις οτι παιζει OK και στο WD). Μεγαλη βελτιωση!

Μπορεις πλεον να κανεις skip μπροστα ή πισω ανα 10λεπτο: While fast forwarding or reversing, if the “Next” or “Prev” buttons are pressed, video will jump 10 minutes in the respective direction...

Συμφωνώ.
Μόλις το εγκατέστησα. Υπάρχει εππισης επιλογή για το μέγεθος των υποτίτλων στα Video settings. (default:40, ρύθμιση από 24 - 40)
Δεν φταίει το srt για τους περίεργους χαρακτήρες. Είδες το κεφαλαίο Θ?

Όταν κλείνω το WD, οι συνδεδεμένες USB συσκευές (sticks ή δίσκοι) παραμένουν ενεργοποιημένες.
Βλέπω οτι η ίδια συμπεριφορά υπάρχει και με το νέο firmware. Μπορεί να το δοκιμάσει και κανένας άλλος?

+Υποστηριξη SMI, SUB, ASS, SSA υποτιτλων (αν και δε δοκιμασα ακομη)...

+ υποστηριξη 1080p @ 24hz (24p) (και αυτο ειναι πολυ καλο feature)

Ναι δεν κλεινουν (το εχουν και αλλες συσκευες αυτο π.χ. το xbox)
To λυνεις ευκολα
1. Πολυμπριζο με διακοπτη για να κλεινει η συσκευη (η οποια δεν κλεινει τελειως αλλα μπαινει σε standby και τραβαει καποιο ρευμα)
2. Τραβας λιγο προς τα εξω το βυσμα του USB (δε χρειαζεται τελειως)

Resolved Issues:

• Resolved issue when 2 drives were connected, then one drive was disconnected, the files from the disconnected drive still showed up on the file list but were not playable
• Resolved "repeat one" failure during music playback; previously songs would not repeat
• Resolved artist name truncation issue during music playback
• Resolved issue where WD TV would not turn back on with remote after extended period of inactivity; previously WD TV had to be unplugged and was unrecoverable with the remote
• Resolved image size and position issues during video playback; previously the image displayed did not fill the screen until the picture was zoomed in and then out again
• Resolved info bar display issues in PAL (European display standard) mode
• Resolved issue of the slideshow playing while in the Option menu during playback, slideshow now pauses if the Option menu is accessed
• Resolved issues surrounding drives going to “sleep” and folders showing as empty; previously drives equipped with a sleep feature would not re-initialize before the WD TV timed out and displayed the folders as empty
• Resolved issues with DVR-MS file playback, FF and REV now function properly; previously FF or REV during a DVR-MS file would cause the file to stop playing and the video signal to be lost
• Resolved issues with forced resolution changes dropping video signal; previously the signal would be lost if the user switched between forced resolution and auto
• Resolved photo self re-sizing issue; previously during photo playback the pictures would randomly re-size themselves
• Resolved Status LED behavior by blinking to reflect accurate read cycles while data is being read; previously the LED just stayed on
• Resolved subtitle default to “on” issue (subtitles now default to “off”, unless there is an external subtitle file created, then subtitles default to “on”)
• Resolved subtitle position issue, the subtitles were moved down towards bottom of screen; previously during playback of some files subtitles were positioned too high blocking the view of the video
• Resolved the 1-2 second FF during initial playback of .MPG video; previously video would play in what appeared to be FF for the first 1-2 seconds and then slow to standard play rate
• Resolved video signal failure when pan function in video files with subtitles is used; previously subtitles would stop functioning, video would stop playing, or TV would lose signal
• Resolved zoom issues while file info is displayed during video playback; previously signal would fail or video would stop playing
• Resolved zooming issues while subtitles were on; previously the screen used to go black and the video would stop playing

Χρονια πολλα σε ολους. Μια απορια ως ασχετος που ειμαι...Τι διαφορα εχουμε στα 24Hz απο ας πουμε το απλο 1080ρ???

παδια τελικα με το dts downmix τι γίνεται? Εξακολουθουν να παιζουν ''μουγκά'' τα mkv. , μεσω Composite AV cable?
