newbie sto forum...
Μόλις παρέλαβα το DP-600 μου... αλλά φοβάμαι πως την πάτησα...
τόσα gadgets τόση τεχνολογία... πρώτη φορά παίρνω κάτι που δεν δουλεύει και φαίνεται οτι δεν μπορώ να κάνω κάτι για να το φτιάξω ( ... με καταλαβαίνετε ελπίζω
επι της ουσίας λοιπόν.... μόλις το ανάβω γράφει 'please wait!' και τίποτ'αλλο δεν συμβαίνει
έστειλα στο support τους και μου στείλαν με τα πολλά τις παρακάτω οδηγίες για να ανοίξω το cd-tray ωστε να αναβαθμίσω το firmware...
το έχω κάνει 100 φορές (και με παραλαγές μάλιστα...) αλλά τίποτα... δεν ανοίγει το στοματάκι του με τίποτα το DP...
επίσης είναι ΥΠΕΡ-αθόρυβο... παρόλο που φαίνεται να ανάβει η οθόνη (please wait) και να ανάβει η κεραιούλα όταν πατάω κουμπιά στο remote....
Please ΠΕΙΤΕ μου οτι δεν μου ήρθε καμμένοοοοο....

Μερικά Tips&Tricks για το DP-600 :

Open DVD/CD Tray:
After Main Power On (Red LED is then active), press and hold the Default
button in the back of the player, and simultaneous Power-On the player by
pressing the Stand-by button on the remote, or the Stop button on the
front panel. While the “Please Wait” is shown in the front panel display,
keep holding the Default button active until the Drawer opens (usually
within the first 10 seconds).

Boot From CD:
Press Default button down and hold it for 10 sec while turning on the player!
ISO Firmware Update: (If online is unavailable to you)
Burn the ISO file using the kiss firmware guide

Then boot from the CD using the “Boot From CD” Procedure.

Reset Button in the back:
This button will restart the player without changing settings.
The functionality seems similar to a Power Off (Power Recycling on the
mains switch) but the Reset sometimes gives a better result if you
experience playback related instability issues.

Default Button:
Press down the Default button wile holding down one of the following keys on the remote:
1: Reset TV output to NTSC 480i
2: Reset TV output to PAL 576i
9: Display Advanced features menu

Functions:
Reset To Factory Default: 9990000
Reset Firmware Version Nr.: 98765432
Volume Toggle Decibel/Volume: 436745

Το πρόβλημά σου είναι ότι δεν μπουτάρει το front chip. 8-9 φορές προσπάθησε να το κλείνεις και να το ανοίγεις συνεχόμενα όμως... Πριν την διαδικασία κάνε και ένα reset στο player με το κουμπάκι από πίσω...

Ρε παιδιά έχω κάτι νεύρα... Το μέχρι τώρα άψογο Kiss μου δεν βλέπει καθόλου το τηλεχ/ριο. Ξεκινάω αναβάθμιση και στο τέλος που ζητάει οκ δεν μπορώ να του δώσω γιατί δεν δουλεύει το τηλεχ/ριο. Παρακαλώ βοήθεια δεδομένου ότι όλες οι μέθοδοι που αναφέρονται πιο πίσω έχουν δοκιμαστεί.

Όχι Χρήστο δεν είναι αυτό μακάρι να'χες δίκαιο, αλλά μετά από αλλεπάλληλες ανταλλαγές μηνυμάτων με το support, σήκωσαν τα χέρια ψηλά για το πρόβλημα.
Πρότειναν να αρχίσει η γνωστή από προηγούμενο παθόντα διαδικασία της επιστροφής και αντικατάστασης. Ευχαριστώ για τη βοήθεια.

Το DTS δεν παίζει στο Kiss.
Ασύρματα παίζει με το Pc Link. Απλά του δίνεις automatic configuration στις ρυθμίσεις του δικτύου, τρέχεις στο PC το PC Link (ή κάποιο αντίστοιχο), καθορίζεις ποιά folders θα κάνεις share και αυτό ήταν. Μόνο που δεν παίζει HD μεγάλου bitrate.

Τελικα το τελευταιο firmware φταιει για το DTS.
Εβαλα το PClink 3 και καταφερα να το δουλεψω και ασυρματα και ενσυρματα. Βεβαια ασυρματα μου παιζει ελαχιστα HD αρχεια και μαλιστα με σπασιματα. Αυτο ομως που δεν αναγνωριζει καθολου ειναι οι υποτιτλοι σε οτι σειρες και ταινιες εχω κατεβασει. Ενω αντιθετα το Ezlink τους παιζει κανονικα. Κανω κατι λαθος η απλα δεν παιζει υποτιτλους???
Θα μου πειτε γιατι δεν χρησιμοποιω το Ezlink.... απλα το PClink ειναι εντελως απλοικο και ελαφρυ ενω το Ezlink τραβαει και μερικα κρασαρισματα που και που......

Υ.Γ. Τελικα ακουγεται τιποτα για καινουριο firmware???

Υποτίθεται ότι επανασχεδιάζουν το firmware και θα βγάλουν καινούργιο (όχι αναβάθμιση...) που θα λύνει όλα τα προβλήματα...

Latest news reached us today from Denmark's KiSS-Technology's front about the launch of the DP-600 "reworked firmware" and the DP-1600 release. Also the long expected Media Mate (it won't be called like that upon release) has delivered us "some" info. The long awaited and slowly progressing "KNAS firmware" that should replace the old firmware style from KiSS should follow the DP-1600 release which "we" expect to be during this year so fingers crossed. No dates can at the time be given upon releases and / or expectations "but" we did receive scans from the catalogue which holds the DP-600 and the Media Mate or Media Link, which seem to be called "WMLV54G". Sounds an awefull lot to Linksys naming conventions for products so just maybe, that might become the name for future products in 2007!

The DP-1600 will also run on the new "KNAS" firmware from KiSS, demonstrated at IFA 2006, we could see it was no longer static loading pages but using a nice graphix engine that refreshes only the parts of the screen that needs refreshing. The gained speed in navigation will feel as a big improvement and the integration with Video-On-Demand features should yield a new experience for KiSS consumers. IN fact, it might just feel as if you get a new player for the same money already paid but let's wait and see for that to happen first. On top, the DP-1600 is build around more memory to support the H.264 format which the Sigma EM8622 supports.

Whatever else is new inside the "KNAS" firmware is unknown and in fact, almost strange how it is kept from public. We are not used to seeing that from our friends so they might just prepare a big surprise for their customers of DP-600 products as the "KNAS" for DP-600 is expected soon after the release of the DP-1600 SFF player, which beside H.264 should become the same as DP-600 in a cropped design. So that leaves a little talk about the WMLV54G, the name makes us make assumptions about the naming for 2007 that will be used but that's less important to what we know already. This device will be based on Syabas middleware (info gotten from IFA2006, so unless changed at last minute, it will be using Syabas). Unfortunately, despite the long wait from consumers for it, it won't reach the shops in 2006 and rather it will reach us in 2007, early or late can not be told!

It's all secrets these days so once revealed, we all hope, the secrets are worth it to be revealed!
