Samsung Cancels BD-UP5500 !

Samsung has announced that they have canceled plans to introduce their second generation hybrid Blu-ray and HD DVD player, the Samsung BD-UP5500, due to Blu-ray winning the format war.

Their first hybrid player, the Samsung BD-UP5000, was riddled with compatibility issues, and the time line to replace the player was escalated. With the successor now canceled, it appears Samsung will slowly leave the dual format player market
