With just over two months before The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters, Warner Bros. has launched an interactive game on the film's official site that allows fans to play "Riddles in the Dark," the same guessing game that Bilbo Baggins is forced to play when he meets Gollum.

Although it shouldn't come as too big of a surprise to fans of Peter Jackson who, in the past, has shown quite a penchant for extended home video versions of his films, Movies.com has spotted an entry on an upcoming calendar of planned Warner Bros. Home Entertainment 2013 releases that lists a The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition Blu-ray release for next year's fourth quarter.
The Extended Edition of the first film will likely be on store shelves just prior to the December 13, 2013 theatrical release of the second chapter, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
You can check out the full calendar below which also includes a number of other catalog treasures from the studio, celebrating its 90th Anniversary in 2013.

Empire sat down with director Peter Jackson to talk about The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. One of the things he revealed to them was the running time for the first film and the magazine also revealed all of the covers for their December issue, pictured below.
Its looking like its going to be about ten minutes shorter than Fellowship was," said Jackson. "So its going to be officially our shortest Middle-earth yet. I mean, Fellowship was just under three hours and this is about 2 hours 40 minutes at the moment.
That time also doesn't include the ending credits which haven't been added yet, plus some effects shots remain to be finalized which could alter the time once again.

Air New Zealand Creates a Hobbit Tie-In Safety Video
Air New Zealand has partnered with Weta Workshop to create a Hobbit tie-in safety video for their airline. In the video you'll see all the usual safety tips with a bit of a twist, along with a cameo from a special guest.
After watching the video, be sure to go to their website and solve the Elvish code to win one of six double passes to the World Premiere Screening of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in New Zealand on the 28th of November. The winners will also receive a tour of the Hobbiton set, Weta cave visit, and Lord of the Rings tour in Wellington and Queenstown.

Album Art, Release Date for The Hobbit Soundtrack Revealed:
Watertower Music has officially announced the release date for the soundtrack of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and it's coming on December 11, just three days before the film...
The soundtrack will be available both digitally and as a 2 CD set. A Special Edition of the soundtrack featuring six exclusive bonus tracks, seven extended score cues, and deluxe liner notes will also be available December 11. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey features original score by Academy Award winner Howard Shore recorded at famed Abbey Road studios by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally it includes an original song entitled Song of the Lonely Mountain, written and performed by Neil Finn (Crowded House).
