More GT5 Details: High/Low Beams, Dynamic Crowds, No BBQ Smell

EuroGamer was first to share new details that emerged from the private GT5 presentationYamauchi hosted at E3 on Wednesday, and now we’ve got even more information from MotorTrend, Kotaku, IGN, and GameSpot. Now, in addition to the new details I’ve already covered, here’s what we know:

• Polyphony Digital is working on reducing load times and is still tweaking graphics ahead of the November release date.
• The game has nearly filled all of the space available on Blu-Ray disc.
• You’ll have the option to synchronize the game’s time of day with the track’s current local time.
• The crowds will be dynamic, so there will be more tents, cars, and motorhomes at longer races.
• Yamauchi admits his team may have “actually gone too far in modeling some of this detail” and suggested it might be “more suited to the next generation of PlayStation.”
• Both high and low-beam headlights will be included, so you can flash slower cars as you’re about to pass them (how awesome will this be during the 24 hour races!?!). All lights will illuminate dirt, smoke, or other debris in the air.
• NASCAR insisted that all of their series’ cars be playable on all circuits in the game.
• It was previously mentioned that only 9 NASCAR cars will be included, but this was incorrect. There are simply 9 cars in the E3 2010 demo, but “many more” are coming.
• With the exception of profanity, all of the Nurburgring’s graffiti has been re-created, just as it is in real life. According to Kotaku, they will attempt to keep the graffiti up-to-date before the game is shipped.
• Players will be able to maintain an online profile to share and watch friend’s progress and statistics.
• All cars (including standard models) will accumulate dirt and will have functional horns.
• All cars will have functioning reverse lights.
• More information will be revealed at Gamescom in Germany on August 18-22.
• More Formula 1 teams will bring their cars to the game, in addition to Ferrari.
• “While racing the 24 hours of Nurburgring, you can smell people’s barbecues — we couldn’t recreate that.” — Kazunori Yamauchi

Unfortunately, despite all of these details, there is still much confusion regarding the status of interior views on the 800+ “standard” car models in the game. Kotaku provides the most optimistic description:

The developers have created fully modeled interiors for the Premium cars, as well as doing detailed modeling for the car’s undercarriage and even the exhaust pipes! The Standard cars apparently won’t have the exact interior modeling. For example, an Enzo’s interior will look like the real deal, but your typical Mustang’s will look like exactly like Mustang’s.

Take that for what you will – hopefully Yamauchi will be able to clear this up during his live Twitter interview with @Honda tomorrow (12:00 PM, Pacific time, Thursday June 17th).

More GT5 Details Confirmed by Polyphony Digital

Polyphony Digital have conveniently published their own independent and specific confirmation of the features we’ve been learning about via media outlets over the past two days, thanks to one big update to their official site. In addition to what was already discussed here and here, this is what’s new:

• As confirmed in a note on the Japanese site, the 800 “standard cars” in the game will not have interior view or high-beam headlights (new video of standard cars here, thanks Paskowitz).
• NASCAR pit crew’s actions have been specifically re-created.
• All cars will be able to “roll over” if involved in an accident.
• Damage may “not necessarily be applied to all races in the game”.
• You will be able to define your own password-protected online races with your friends, and you’ll be able to control all of the event’s regulations.
• “You can host ‘Track Days’, where everyone can drive freely on the track. You can try to shave down your laptimes, you can teach someone how to drive, or just enjoy drifting.”

Vehicular damage was also clarified:

Physics-Affecting Damage
This is damage in which the physics simulation is affected by alignment deviations, etc. This is damage that affects controllability, and the car may not drive straight, or it might become unstable in corners, etc. depending on the amount of damage. Affects all cars.
Dirt, Scratches, and Dents
This is damage that can be visually seen, and involves dirtying of the body, scratches and dents. Affects all cars.
Separation (dislocation) of Body Panels
This is damage in which body panels are dislocated from their original positions, or deform. Affects only premium cars.

Για το 3D ανέφεραν πως το GT5 θα το υποστηρίζει....
Παραπάνω λεπτομέρειες από αύριο μάλλον!

Εμείς που δεν έχουμε 3d τηλεοράσεις θα μπορούμε να βλέπουμε σε 3δ; Η ερώτηση μου ισχύει και για τις 3δ ταινίες.

αυτό που δεν έχει δώσει επίσημη λίστα πολύ με εκνευρίζει...
(όχι ότι θα βγει ποτέ το παιχνίδι για να το παίξουμε εντέλει, αλλά λέω...:410::410

Εμένα μου τη δίνει που και στο GT4 και τώρα συμπεριλαμβάνονται μέσα στη λίστα κάποια αυτοκίνητα, αλλά τελικά στο 4 δεν υπήρχαν. Αν πάντως έχει τα παρακάτω (επιπλέων από τα κοινά με το GT4) θα είμαι υπερευχαριστημένος (με σκούρο τα must!):

Εμένα μου τη δίνει που και στο GT4 και τώρα συμπεριλαμβάνονται μέσα στη λίστα κάποια αυτοκίνητα, αλλά τελικά στο 4 δεν υπήρχαν. Αν πάντως έχει τα παρακάτω (επιπλέων από τα κοινά με το GT4) θα είμαι υπερευχαριστημένος (με σκούρο τα must!):

French gaming site JVN noticed a recent update to Gran Turismo 5’s product information on Sony Computer Entertainment France’s press site: it shows a release date of November 24, 2010. The website requires French media credentials for access, but GTPlanet Forum user jujub was able to independently confirm the news by sharing the screenshot that you see above. As many of you know, the November 2nd release date for the United States was announced E3 2010, but Sony has been quiet on specifics for other regions – most notably Europe. Until an official statement is made (most likely at at Gamescom 2010 in Germany, August 18th), this is our most reliable indication of the company’s plans.

Αυτο εννοώ.Αλλά τι εννοείς 'δέν...' απ'το να δώσουμε 1500ε+ για 3δ τηλεόραση καλύτερα να βλέπουμε ακόμα κγι έτσι.Τέλος πάντων το gt5 θα μπορούμε να το βλέπουμε φυσιολογικά τουλάχιστον;

Πέρσι δεν υπήρχε επίσημη ανακοίνωση σε καμία έκθεση.
Φέτος έγιναν όλα επίσημα και μάλιστα στην Ε3!
Είμαστε σε καλό δρόμο.

Πέρσι δεν υπήρχε επίσημη ανακοίνωση σε καμία έκθεση.
Φέτος έγιναν όλα επίσημα και μάλιστα στην Ε3!

Ποιός είπε ότι θα είναι συμβατό με τα χρωματιστά γυαλιά;
Απ ότι ξέρω θα είναι στερεοσκοπικό 3d,δλδ αυτό που σπρώχνουν τώρα στις ταινίες.Οπότε χωρίς 3d συσκευή απεικόνισης ντεν έκει θρι-ντι εικόνα:138:
(Αλλιώς δεν θα ανακοίνωνε 3d αναβάθμιση στο ps3:126
